PRESENT OFFENSE : 

Records show that on 8/31/94, at approximately 5:07 PM, a hidden camera located in the front of the 
"T03DAY SHOW" building at 36 West 4^ Street revealed the subjec t park ing his ca r and opening -foe trunk. 
He then put on a dark colored smock~55d hid a Title m melleeve of lib smocKTHe attempted to get rSsTdelhe 
"TODAY SHOW building "but was denied entrance by the victim when he noticed the subject's rifle. The 
subject left in Ms car. 

The victim was standing in front of the building with his boss when the subject returned at about 5 :23 PM. 
While the victim was trying to alert the Police, the subject exited Ms vehicle, cursed the victim and took up a 
military stance. The subject fatally shot the victim in the hack while the victim was running. 

Subsequent to the shooting, the subject waSksd over to the deceased who was lying on the ground, looked at 
him and talked away with the gun Still in plain view. Police Officer Mark Lanigan apprehended the subject 
in his car. The victim was taken to Be!ievue Hospital where he died in the operating room. 



The Medical Examiner listed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the back with perforations of spleen, 
kidney and colon-

PAROLE INTERVIEW 



INMATE'S STATEMENT: 

The subject was interviewed by this writer on November 13, 2006 at Sing Sing Correctional Facility, 
__ BuildingS. The subject was advised of his rights. He stated that he has no. pending appeals. He stated that 
( ) the account of the instant offense is accurate; however, he claimed thai he did not see the victim prior to the 
time of th$ shooting. He also claimed that he did not walk over to the victim after the shooting; he walked 
straight to bis car. 

The subject stated that he was paranoid at the time of the present offense. He chimed that he was carrying 
the rifle because he thought he needed it for protection . Re stated that he even drove to the "TODAY 
SHOW" building in a rented car because he thought the network had bugged a car he had recently purchased. 
He claimed that the reason he went to the "Today Show" building was because he thought he had knowledge 
that the network wanted. He stated that he thought the newscasters were sending him coded messages and 
were out to get him because he disagreed with their news reporting. 

The subject denied any history of drugs and alcohol abuse. He claimed to be a social drinker and to have 
tried marijuana no more than twice years ago,

at about 5:23 PM. While the victim was trying to alert the Police, the subject exited his 
vehicle, cursed the victim and took up a military stance. The subject fatally shot the 
victim in the back while the victim was running.

Mark Lanigan apprehended the subject in his car. The victim was taken to Bellevue 
Hospital where he died in the operating room.

PAROLE INTERVIEW 



Inmate's Statement: 



Inmate was interviewed at his cell withip A block at Sing Sing CF on 8/22/08. He admits 
guilt in the instant offence and reports that his mental instability played a part in his 
irrational thoughts and actions. Inmate's statement is simultaneous to one given in his 
initial Board. He reports paranoid thoughts of people and individuals trying to hurt him 
thought the television and felt that carrying a firearm would protect him. 

He reports that he arrived at the "TODAY SHOW" because he thought he had relevant 
knowledge that the network wanted. Nevertheless, he reported that he thought 
newscasters were sending messages and were out to get him because he disagreed with 
their news reports. 



Institutional Adjustment: 

Inmate has progressed well since his last Board. Inmate has made a commitment to 
completing his 4-year degree, which he started in 11/06. Inmate is also a teacher's aid in 
the small engine shop. He has participated in this program since 2/28/05. Inmate has 
received several promotions and lateral changes since beginning in the program. 



Disciplinary: 

Since the inmate's last Beard appearance he has not accrued any violations.

Since his October 2008 Board appearance; the subject has been assigned as a Teachers 
Aide in Electrical Trades, Plumbing and Heating, Adult Basic Education, Pre-GED, 
Small Engine Repair, and a student in the 4 years Degree Program. The subject is 
currently assigned to Phase III Transitional Services (07/05/10 to present) and a Teacher 
Aide in Electrical Trades (07/05/10 to Present). 




Disciplinary: 

The subject has not been the recipient of any disciplinary action since his 10/08 Board 
1 appearance. 

The subject's most recent infraction (Tier IT) was incurred on 2/25/01 for MesshalL
